background to highfield 2

This part of Highfield developed as a caravan site over a number of years. Crofts in this part of Scotland traditionally have been allowed to keep up to 3 caravans available to summer visitors, but we always felt we would rather offer pitches to touring visitors following the success of our original Caravan Club CL site.
The Caravan Club were extremely helpful and agreed to allow us to keep our Certificated Location provided the new development was clearly separate from their existing site.

In time, we got planning permission to make a site for 5 touring pitches and installed the much sought after and appreciated!  electric hook-ups.
Once we got going, The Camping and Caravanning Club invited us to list these 5 pitches in their directory and we came up with the - not very original! - name of Highfield 2

Without the cars parked at each van, there's a feeling of much more space on the site.
