Crofts in this part of Scotland traditionally were allowed to
keep up to 3 caravans for summer visitors, but we preferred to
offer pitches to touring visitors following the success of our
original Caravan Club Certificated Location.
The Caravan Club very helpfully agreed to allow us to keep our
Certificated Location - now Highfield 1 - provided any
further pitches were clearly separate from their existing site.
Following planning permission for 5 touring pitches and the installation of electric hook-ups, we were invited by The Camping and Caravanning Club to list these in their Big Sites directory - and we came up with the - not very original! - name of Highfield 2.
